Are you up for a plant-based challenge? Well read on to find out all about Mia & Ben’s Veganuary 2021 challenge and find free downloadable resources for you to share your progress!
What is Veganuary?
In the UK, including more plant-based foods in our diets or going one step further and opting for a completely vegan diet is an ever increasing trend. In fact, the UK is home to the most vegans in the world, with 1.16% of the population identifying as vegan and the UK accounted for the largest proportion of the 400,000 sign ups to Veganuary in 2020 (a month in which individuals try a whole month of eating only plant foods). There’s no doubt this number will continue to rise!
Why try Veganuary?
There are a number of reasons why people go vegan, including:
- environmental impact
- animal welfare
Whatever the reason, we’re here to support those interested in exploring dietary changes – whether you’re taking the full leap, and signing up to the Official Veganuary challenge , or would prefer something a little lighter like our January Veganuary challenge.
Join the #miabenveganuary Challenge!

Veganuary shopping list
There’s more to being vegan than not eating dairy products, so we’ve put together a handy checklist to take shopping with you and to keep in mind while you shop.
Many “normal” products these days can be food in alternative vegan versions, such as burgers, yoghurts, milks and even cheeses. For other non-vegan foods, like honey, you can use agave nectar or syrup as a vegan friendly alternative.
Critical nutrients to be aware of when going vegan
When turning vegan, it’s especially important to keep an eye on vitamins & minerals which you would usually receive from meat or fish.
Since we have a team of nutrition specialists at Mia & Ben they made a list of all critical nutrients and good and tasty plant-based sources for them!
